    <title>What Bernie did</title>
    <link>http://bernard.gondwana.com.au/Web/CrossFingerFlap/CrossFingerFlap.html</link>
<description>In October 2004 I had an accident, I had the end of my middle finger crushed off between two metal plates.&#13;I originally posted the pictures so that friends and family who heard that I’d hurt myself could see what had happened and see that my life wasn’t in danger as some might have thought.
After the pages had been up for a while I noticed my internet bandwidth had reduced somewhat so I checked my server logs and noticed that there were two types of people looking at the pictures.&#13; Those looking for gory photos&#13; Medical students&#13;Since there were medical students looking at the pictures I decided to leave them up.&#13;It is for the use of medical students that I leave these pictures up now, though with some updates. (The original pages were written while in a rather lucid state)&#13;The number one question I’ve had from people was how much did it hurt?&#13;Well not very much at all actually. In fact I had more pain when I stubbed my toe while I was in hospital. (That had the nurses running to see what I’d done)&#13;Finally I’d like to say that the service provided by the Royal Flying Doctor Service are exceptional.&#13;I was unlucky enough to have a reason to use their services and cannot thank them enough for the excellent service that is provided.&#13;If you’re ever looking for a cause to donate to, I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.&#13;Warning: The images displayed below are graphic. If you don’t like such pictures please DO NOT view them. (Probably best to finish your lunch first also)&#13;You have been warned.</description>
